Mental Health Nursing Care Plan

Does anyone know where to find good mental health nursing care plans?

Where should I live in Iowa? I’m going to school at Iowa State University in Ames IA but want to live North?

Is there any place a little North of Ames, IA (can be east or west too) that’s only about 30 minutes away or so (doesn’t have to be exact, I’m not too picky about that) that has a population of 5,000 – 10,000?

I’ve grown up in a small town – population 2000… I liked it but it was a little too small because everyone knew everyone’s business. 5,000 is a good size.

Also – if there are any lakes around that area, I would like to know. I love the beach – I go almost every day during the summer!

I’m going to graduate school at Iowa State University in Ames, IA to be a nurse practitioner. Money isn’t really a big deal for me – most of my clinicals are paid, and pay well. I also have a husband who has his law enforcement degree so our money combined we could live in a more high-end place if necessary, but I wouldn’t mind living in a poorer town.

Marshalltown comes to mind. It’s east of Ames, but kind of a blue collar city. There’s really nothing north that would fit with your criteria. Ankeny is nice, I have friends who live there. I call it the yuppie suburb of Des Moines. (Although it’s not a suburb, it’s just that many young professionals live there and commute to either Des Moines or Ames, and it’s cheaper to live there.)

I’d have to pull up a map to remember the nearest lakes. There’s one just north of Ames, can’t remember the name now, just that a co-worker used to rollerblade around it. Gray’s Lake, Lake Rathburn, Clear Lake, Lake Panorama, Pine Lake. Although I’ll admit that it’s hard to find a decent beach in Iowa!

Best of luck in your studies, from an ISU alum!

question about nursing school?

HI i have a question i want to become a LVN or an RN but want to be able to take the majority of the classes online I have not been able to find any colleges for either one the only things i can find is for medical assistant and from what i read that is more secretarial work does any one know of an online school that has a degree for either of the two ?

And also I will be using a scholarship called the Mycaa for military spouses so if any one knows about that and if they know if the school is accepted through them then that would be a great help too.

thank you

Most prerequisite and regular nursing courses MUST be completed in a classroom or in a hospital. You can not find any schools that have them online because they do not exist.

Can you get a 4th degree felony expunged in New Mexico?

In 1996 I plead no contest to 4th degree felony domestic violence. I served 3 years probation and in 1999 the charges were dismissed. I since 1995 (when this incident happened) quit drinking, taking drugs, got all the counseling I could handle and have had no incidents of this type of behavior in the 9 years I have been married. This incident took place when I was 27 and now I am 41 decided to go back to college and hopefully be a nurse. But I have been told for nursing their is no if, and, or buts any felony no license, no job. I don’t know if this is true but I was told I can get the felony expunged. So if anybody is an attorney out there, or maybe has any insight about a nursing license or just knows the answers please help.

Any advice on starting Nursing school?

I was accepted into Nursing school late October and I actually start TOMORROW (Jan. 4th)!! I’m extremely nervous and I could use any advice that helped others through their RN program. Is there any study tips, online resources, etc. that helped anyone pass their classes? Any input will help me!! Thank you all!
