What’s a practical degree to shoot for in college?

I’ve been attending the University of Rhode Island for the last five years. I’ll be done at the end of this semester with a degree in Communication studies and a BA in Music. So… needless to say, I find myself stuck with two degrees and still working as a dietary aide at a nursing home.

Anyone have any thoughts on what would be a more practical degree to get in college? I plan on going back again and starting something new. I’ve followed my dreams of becoming an accomplished musician, but It’s time to find myself an actual purpose in society. One that would give me the option of supporting a family if need be.

One very good degree mostly overlooked by students is the BSTM in Technology Management (often alternately called the BSIT in Industrial Technology).

This degree is part Business courses and part Technology courses. The Technology can be almost anything. See the list below.

You may be able to step right into a degree program at the Master’s level in Technology Management.
