I’ve seen different nursing school requirements. I guess I’m asking if there’s a way to shave those courses down in time, and do the bare minimum to sit for the R.N. exam. I’m not an immigrant, so any foreign student requirements are irrelevant.

You need to have graduated with a minimum of an associate degree of an accredited nursing program to apply to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam. This is the minimum requirement. I don’t think there is any alternative way. Check out the New York State Department of Education Office of Professions website for more information. www.op.nysed.edu
