What does JD do in Sacred Heart. Is he a general practitioner or what?
And is the job he does a real job in Canada?
Not a just a family doctor.

    General practitioner tends to be the same as ‘family doctor’ or ‘primary care doctors’.
    JD is a hospital doctor in ‘internal medicine’.
    Through the seasons, he works his way up from ‘Medical Intern’ to ‘Medical Attending’ or “Attending Physician in General (Internal) Medicine”.
    I’m sure the job exists in Canada. It certainly exists here in the UK – although the job titles are slightly different (he’d start as a ‘Foundation Doctor’ and eventually become a ‘Registrar’)
