They need to be white leather and will be my first pair!! Woo Hoo!! I don’t want the Danzco (spelled wrong?) clogs because I have had those and don’t care for them. Thanks so much!!
I always just bought white leather Puma’s and really liked them. I’m not sure if your school/hospital is strict about brand or style, but you can go places like Footlocker and they’ll have a selection of all white shoes. Get whatever you think is comfy. When you’re on your feet for 12 hours it makes a world of difference. I’d look into gel insoles, too. Your feet (and posture) will thank you at the end of a busy shift. Medical supply stores that sell scrubs often carry nursing shoes. You really SHOULDN’T wear those Holey-Sole and Crocs style shoes, they’re comfy but they have no real sole. If you step on a needle, tack or scalpel it’s going straight into your foot. A coworker of mine did this, not only was it fun to remove, but I got to hold her hand through lab tests for hepatitis. Don’t risk it.
Yeah I know a few nurses who wear Crocs…but I’ve never been into them.
You know all the other nurses and resp therapists I know just wear regular shoes…not special nursing shoes.
