I Start My Actual Nursing Classes On Monday. What Should I Wear? I Have Seen The Other Students Walking?

around in scrubs (just regular ones that are colorful, not the uniform ones we wear to clinicals). Will I look foolish if I wear one of my old sets on the first day of class? I used to wear them to class when I was working that night.

How Do You Become A Independent Contractor As A Rn Or Start Your Own Travel Nursing Agency? ?

the scope of both are similar but different!!! as a independent contractor all you need is a written contract and remember you will be responsible for your own ss and 401ks!!! but as a company you best bet would be to write a business plan and then contact the local sba and ask for there assistance in getting loans or any other assistance!!

Why Did Nurses Stop Wearing The Traditional Uniforms And Start Wearing Those God Awful Floral Print Scrubs?

We wear scrubs because they are more practical than the old white uniform dress with stockings. Nurses have to be able to move easily, lift patients, get dirty, etc. Scrubs are cheap, comfortable, and easy to clean (or dispose of) if dirty.
Floral scrubs are a personal choice based on the individual nurse’s taste – you can have wild kinds of scrubs with skulls, hearts, etc:http://www.tafford.com/detail.htm?sid=NT…
Or you can choose something floral and hideous:http://www.bestofscrubs.com/shop/style.p…
Or go all out for the animal print:http://www.tafford.com/detail.htm?sid=NT…
But at least it allows nurses to show off their personalities with their scrubs! However, you can’t account for bad taste.

What Can I Do In High School So I Can Get A Head Start In Becoming An Rn?

I’m a sophomore in high school and planning on either going to BYU or the U of U. I’m thinking seriously about becoming a registered nurse, and I was wondering if there are any classes in high school that I can take, or online college courses that I can do so I can get a head start in college in becoming an RN?

What Is The Best Way To Start Nursing School? Get Lpn First Or Rn?

I have been accepted into Pre-health of a local community college, but there is no guarantee I will be able to get into the RN program there. Should I try for my LPN first and then transition into the RN? What seems to work the best nowadays? Thanks to the nurses who know.

What Type Of Work Should I Start Out With?

I graduated a couple of months ago, and recently acquired my state license to practice as an LPN. I do plan to go back to school to finish my bachelor’s and take the NCLEX-RN eventually. (Hopefully registering for night classes again this fall).
I’m especially interested in working in an Oncology department at a hospital or an ICU unit in the future, but I realize much experience, and my RN license, is needed.
Therefore, where should I start? I would love to start working, so I’ll take just about anything at first, but I’d like to get my foot in the door at a local hospital as an LPN for the experience, and to learn in any unit, but I never see ads for hiring. How do I go about getting my resume out there?
Hopefully there are some experienced nurses browsing here that might give a new, wet-behind-the-ears nurse some sound advice. =)
