Should I Have To Enjoy Math And Science Class Before I Consider Going Into Nursing?

I’ve always seemed to struggle with math and I wonder if that’s going to really effect me if I take classes aimed at nursing. Sometimes I think I may not be able to pass what’s going to be thrown at me if I decide to go into nursing

Should I Take A Final Year Of Math For Nursing?

I’m going into my senior year of highschool in the fall and I am picking my classes. I decided not to take Pre-Calc because I just don’t want that hassle to deal with. I am, however, taking medical terminology and ap bio. Would you think it would affect my chances of getting into a nursing program?

What Types Of Math Courses Should Someone Take For Nursing?

and another question..
What kind of math do nurses use on a daily basis. and!
How do you use your knowledge of math daily as a nurse?

Should I Let My Mom Raise My Son?

Right now I just got out of school for nursing and I am planning to go back to be an RN. I have 2 kids and i’m engaged so I have help with the kids but my mom asked if my son can go live with her. She said she feels lonely cause me and my sisters are not around anymore and we are older. We don’t live that far from each other and she said I will still be his mom and get to see him and pick him up whenever I want. I know that being a RN is a full time commitment and I won’t have that much time for either of my children, but I feel like if he stays with her that it will make me a bad mother or that he will think I don’t care or him. My son is going to be 4 and is very attention needy and I know that my mom will take great care of him, but I’m not sure if it’s the right thing to do. I just want what’s best for him, I want him to be happy and I know that he adores his grandparents very much. Can anyone give me a little advice?

Should I Have A Baby?

I am 23 years old and have been married for a little over a year. I am 1 semester away from graduating nursing school and I will be a RN. My husband has a BA (4 year degree) in history and plans on going to more school next year to become a teacher. My husband works full time in retail (not much you can do with a history degree) and I work part time in the health care field and go to school. Should I wait to have a baby or or start trying soon. My biggest fear is that I will have fertility issues and it will take me a long time to get pregnant. I have no medical conditions to lead me to believe this but I worry about that.

I Start My Actual Nursing Classes On Monday. What Should I Wear? I Have Seen The Other Students Walking?

around in scrubs (just regular ones that are colorful, not the uniform ones we wear to clinicals). Will I look foolish if I wear one of my old sets on the first day of class? I used to wear them to class when I was working that night.

Female Healthcare Professionals.. .should I Buy Drawstring Or Elastic Band Nursing Scrubs?

I am going to be starting nursing school in the fall and I will have to buy scrub sets to wear during my clinical rotations. I’m just wondering what other females think is a better option for scrub pants, those with a drawstring or those with an elastic band. I know scrubs can sometimes make girls look really hippy, and I’m fairly skinny so I think this could happen. I know I’ll have to go to life uniform and see what I think for myself before I order, but I’m just interested in what other ladies think.

Should I Go For This? (cna + High School?) This Is A Long-looking One, But I’d Appreciate Any Input.?

First off, let me say that, aside from a couple of electives and 2 (each) English/Global credits, I’m pretty much done with my Advanced Regents Diploma credits (I took honors courses starting in Middle school, so I’m, for the most part, a year ahead.) I would like to pursue a career in health care, most likely and RN (In Hospice, perhaps?)
As a junior and senior (I’m a sophomore, planning my schedule right now.), I can take a half-school-day (4 of 8 periods) class (BOCES Vo-Tech, if you’re familiar with it.) that will end in me getting a (free!) Nurse Assisting Certification (therefore, depending upon what my not-really-considered,-to-be-honest college life looks like, a pretty decent job), lots of science/English credits, and, from what I’ve been told, something that looks really good on College apps. (Plus, it would give me two years to figure out if this is even the kind of work I want to do, and no commitment if I want to leave after a semester.)
This would be in addition to my AR diploma (I’d do regular classes for the other half of the day, obviously.)
My only dilemma is whether it would be a better move to just load up on regular classes. Here are my courses for next year (Keep in mind that I have another year after this, that’s even more open… I’ll only HAVE TO take 1 class as a senior, so anything I don’t take next year, I can do as a Senior.), according to my (rather unhelpful, actually) guidance counselor (classes I’ll definitely be taking, regardless, have an asterisk by them):
-Honors English*
-US History*
-French*
-Gym/Human Anatomy* (Alternating – every other day.)
-Typing
-Forensics (I don’t know. She just plopped me in there. I hear it’s an easy A, though…)
-College Alg. (Def. Taking this one at some point in the next 2 years.)
-Piano (I’m currently in the beginner class and love it.)

How Should I Got About My Nursing Career, Please Read, Thanks In Advance For Any Advise.?

I’ve been admitted to the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing and i planned on going there until i did some research and found out that’s better just to go to community college and become an RN and then later pursue my bsn and ms with financial help of the hospital that i’ll work for, which in most cases they’d cover most of the tuition. Since Im out of state total cost woul be around 40k per year if i went to University of Pittsburgh but because of my high GPA and test scores (3.8,2150 SAT) i’ve received scholarships that take care of virtually all tuition ,i’d just have to pay about $10,500 per year in loans for room, board, and books. So should I go to the University and get my BSN or should i just go straight for the RN at the community college, which would be absolutely free in fact i’d get money back every semester, work for about a year and then go and get my bsn. In either case i plan on getting a masters later in Nursing, business, or education, and more than likely my PhD

Do You Think Nurses Should Look More Professional?

I recently graduated from an LPN program in June. I just started a job at a long term care facility as a GPN… GRADUATE PRACTICAL NURSE… I overheard the nurse manager talking about a couple complaints that us nurses dress “too casual”. However, we wear nursing uniforms… scrub pants and regular nursing tops.
Do you think us nurses need to have more of a PROFESSIONAL LOOK?
