The reason why I’m asking this here is because I feel it is terrible for them to wear them even if they are in their own scrubs and have to change into hospital ones in able to go into the operating room or pacu or operating hallway. Even husbands or partners have to wear hospital issue scrubs, well whatever they are called, in the or, pacu, hallway when their wives or partners have c-sections. Leave them on till their goes to the postpartum room after that. I’m well aware of the germs or spead of infection, something like that.
Think thats it for now.

I am 23 years old and have been married for a little over a year. I am 1 semester away from graduating nursing school and I will be a RN. My husband has a BA (4 year degree) in history and plans on going to more school next year to become a teacher. My husband works full time in retail (not much you can do with a history degree) and I work part time in the health care field and go to school. Should I wait to have a baby or or start trying soon. My biggest fear is that I will have fertility issues and it will take me a long time to get pregnant. I have no medical conditions to lead me to believe this but I worry about that.

Im 15 & will be 16 on Christmas.
I already volunteer in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (My mom is a RN; in the NICU)
When I am older I want to be a Neonatologist/Pediatric Doctor.
I know 8 years of school (including medical school) than 6 years of Residency. But this is my dream. I want to start getting into the field young!
I want to be an intern, at my local hospital, not a volunteer, and actual intern, the NICU, PICU, PEDS, & L&D Know my mom well, and me too. so it might be easy for me to get it?
But how old do you have to be?
(I plan on starting as a PCA soon as I turn 18 & go to school!)

It is very physical and requires a lot of strength. I want to go to ivy tech for an lpn licnese becuase I am pretty sure I could qualify for a gov loan that I wouldnt even have to pay back as long as I graduate. But that is a lot to juggle. I have to work and go to school around my finacees work schedual becuase we have no child care and dont qualify for childcare help. So I could only go part time. It might take me 4 years where as it normally only takes 2 years. Is it rediculous for me to even try givin my age and situation?

Nurses and English teachers, if you can respond also that would be great. thanx
“Nursing is the essence of caring and all that it embodies”, as said by *MSN, RN, CNS. Nursing is a profession of immense responsibility. Nurses are the primary caregivers throughout the patient’s experience. They are counselors and advocates to the patient. Consequently, the connection between the nurse and patient leaves a lasting impact on both. *, MSN, RN, CNS is the director of the Huron School of Nursing. She is passionate and very determined about her work; and is dedicated to the wellness and well-being of her patients. *, MSN, RN, CNS, is an example of a sincere nurse.
How do you see the roles and responsibilities of the Registered Nurse changing in practice?
There is a tremendous opportunity to influence health, wellness, and people’s quality of life. Moreover, the lack of care plan developed in clinical areas and charting shows the inability to track what nursing contributed to the care outcomes.
Nurses are critical in the process of helping a patient return to good health. They have a big influence on the turnaround of a person. Unfortunately, praise for their work and effort is not where it should be.
Please, describe one example of an ethical dilemma you have faced in practice.
* was involved in two ethical situations. One, when a patient’s family did not want a feeding tube, but the doctor believed it would be better and took the case to the Ethics Committee. Also, she experienced another encounter when an African-American male who had sickle cell anemia was going through a crisis and needed pain medication. The patient had tested positive for a drug screening leaving the nurses to believe he just wanted drugs, but, fortunately, * intervened by educating her peers on what was occurring with the young man.
Within the medical field there are numerous times when an ethical dilemma comes to surface. Dealing with morals and values is an aspect in the nursing field because the answer could be appropriate or incorrect depending on whom you are dealing with and you have to consider those.
How do you maintain your practice expertise?
* maintains her expertise in nursing by continuously going to school, attending competency training in hospitals, hospital in-services, and at least three professional conferences a year.
There is a great deal to be learned when entering into nursing. There are lives at stake and that is a great responsibility upon nurses. Therefore, knowledge is essential and life-long learning is how nurses remain current by way of conferences, in-services, and continuing classes.
How do you deal with conflicts with members of the healthcare team (other nurses, physicians, etc.)?
* picks and chooses her battles, but when one comes about, she confronts the members directly. She makes certain that both viewpoints are considered. She asks the questions, “Where do we go from here?” and “What is the best care for the patient?”
In dealing with conflicts, you have to consider both sides. Just by looking at the situation from your point of view will never get the conflict solved because you will constantly assume that you are correct.
What motivates you and rewards you in a career?
* said purpose, influence, and to feel that human connection is what motivates her to be a nurse. She desires to make this world better for the next. She said that it “feeds her soul” to help someone and to influence them to go to the next step in their lives.
There are periods when you feel that you cannot perform any longer and finding that willpower will become necessary. In addition, nursing is very rewarding. The ability to observe that patient get healthier, to resolve an unsolvable conflict, or to appreciate that someone is learning from you is incentive enough. The experience is priceless.
As we look back, the roles of nurses have changed a great deal. There are many ethical and legal issues being that nurses are the caregivers in the hospital, so they are under scrutiny alongside doctors. Nurses have more responsibility today than ever, so they have to stay motivated in continuing their education and staying aware of their surroundings. Along with all the effort, there is a silent reward.
