I graduated from an ADN prog 3 years ago, but was unsuccessful with the NCLEX -RN twice. I took the rest of the time to just work. Now I am tired of being a CNA and want to get my license. The problem is that I know that I am not ready for the RN boards. I would rather audit some classes before I dive back in to that text. Someone recommended I try the LPN boards. Would it be worth it to try that first?

I would buckle down and go for the RN again. I personally know two people who failed twice and really wanted to give up. One of them took a year off. But they both passed the third time through after taking a structured review course like those offered by Kaplan, etc. But auditing classes wouldn’t hurt either. Do you still have all your old work from your program? Review slides and notes and papers, etc. Buy yourself several different review books and spend time just answering questions – thousands of them, and read every rationale for every answer.
If you passed nursing school, have faith in yourself that you can pass NCLEX. You know the information. You might be a little rusty and need review, but you can do it.
Good luck.
What for? Do you realize that you only have so many years to take the NCLEX or you have to repeat your ENTIRE nursing school over again?
I’m not 100% sure if that window hasn’t passed already.
You need to call your state board of nursing and find out what they require.
Call your state board of nursing and find out about your window of opportunity, But study some more and take whatever test you feel you will be more comfortable….
