Not Very Good At Math At All But Im Considering Go To A Nursing School?

Not really a college but just a school for nursing but im terrible at math so like how important is math in nursing? Do I just need to know some chem and decimals? Im good with science just not math

    You HAVE to be good at math or at least competent in it in order to be a safe nurse. There are times when you will be drawing up and mixing medications and you have to know what amount to draw up based on what the concentration is and what your ordered dose is. This all involves mathematical skills. It could be potentially fatal if you were to do this incorrectly. This is not to discourage you from becoming a nurse. Now is the time for you to get a tutor to help you improve your skills. Don’t give up on yourself, I have a feeling if you focus and put some effort into it you just might surprise yourself.     It depends on what kind of math you mean. You will need to be able to function with basic stuff. You do not need to be a math genius, but if you seriously struggle when trying to figure out how to add and subtract (yes decimals too) then you may be in trouble. You need to be able to function without pulling out a math book during every shift, and you shouldn’t need a calculator to add two numbers.
    You will also need to know some chemistry. You will be studying the body and how different things affect it. You will be taught this though. You may have more trouble finding a nursing instructor who will hold your hand trying to add together dosages.
    They have medical math courses, you could try taking one and seeing justyou do. Even jsut buying a book and teaching yourself a little bit may help.
