Is French Necessary At Gcse If I Want To Do Pharmacology And Do Will Not Be Continuing After Gcse’s?

I have been studying french for 2 years and this is my 3rd and I am struggling with it. I am not getting the best teaching I can and find it hard to retain information. I want to continue into sciences and maths – preferably pharmacology – and will not be continuing french at A Level or in Uni so by the time I have completed all this studying there is no way I will be able to remember any of the French anyway so what is the point of doing the GCSE in the first place? I am aiming for all A/A*’s and my B grade in French is ruining it. I would really like to know if I should continue with French or not. Currently I am in year 11.

  1. Think of another career. Good luck

  2. there is probably something to be said for having a visual knowledge of French or another european language as a lot of the pharmicutical companies use products from around the world, also there is a lot of latin used in medicine.
