why a expensive junior college. Once you become a nurse, it doesn't matter what school your graduated from. There is a program thru DHS that will pay daycare while you go to school IF you qualify. I went to school FT and worked PT..the govt paid. That's a LOT of money when you can go to a 4 year university for nursing much much cheaper and comm. colleges are a LOT cheaper than that. Also know that in order to get financial aid for college, you must be enrolled at least PT which is 6 hours. (2 classes) Most places that offer LPN classes are transferable (credits)..IF they are a community college ..I know you may not want to go to school FT but in the long run, it's better to do that and be finished in 2 years (or less LPN) than to struggle and go 8 years. Once you get into rotations, you will probably have to do them in the daytime week days. CNA's are in such demand. You could do that (maybe not home health) on weekends and go to school during the week. I would say don't work and take out all the grants and loans you can get..then on your off time, spend it with your child.
