I Just Finished My First Year Of Nursing. How Hard Is The Rn-nclex (state Broad Exam)? Any Tips?

Any tips on what I sould focus a lot of attention on this next year? I can’t wait to graduate and I know the 2nd year is tougher. I am also a mother of a 4 month old. I had her in between semesters. Any advice about the nclex?

  1. BROAD exam? teehee

  2. Everything is basically based on Med Surg. Test consist of approx 285 questions. Focus on your testing skills. You will be sitting at a computer for up to 3 hours. Nursing has a unique different way of testing. Learn it. I’m sure you’ve learn some of it in your first year. (eliminating the worse 2 answers and picking the best of the 2 remaining, don’t think too deep into the question, don’t go back and abruptly change your answers). Use those same skills on the NCLEX. Participate in a study group with other serious students this year. Network with them and ask what they are studying. Use NCLEX study cd’s like Saunders, Kaplan, and Davis. Practice them over and over. Stay focused, pray for success, and good luck. Your daughter will appreciate all your hard work in the future!
