  1. I congratulate you on your choice of professions and being the first in your family to attend a university; nothing is more rewarding than helping people.
    Scholarship website. Fastweb.com is a scholarship search engine that uses everything about you to find scholarships that fit your situation to you. Everything about you is used such as your ethnicity, field of study, if you or a family member is a veteran, etc. All of this helps the search find scholarships specifically for you. Your time is used more wisely. It takes about 30 mins to complete their online app but after that it’s a matter of monitoring your email for scholarship applications.
    Career Services Dept at your university for a listing of jobs or companies they work with; may be part of Federal Work Study.
    If employed in the private sector, ask the employer about partial or full reimbursement programs for going to school; also ask about scholarships and internships.
    Check with your financial aid office. They should be your best source for information. Financial Aid is not all about loans; however, there are student loans to help pay for school. Check out the school’s financial aid office website. There will be a listing of scholarships available.
    Cal Grant – if you don’t have a bachelor’s degree, complete the FAFSA by the deadline each year, which is March 2nd. go to http://www.csac.ca.gov (Calif Student Aid Commission), click on Cal Grants. This is free money that can potentially pay for your entire 2-4 years of education. Don’t be afraid you won’t qualify because chances are you will. Start by completing the FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov
    Comprehensive Financial Aid Information can be found at http://www.finaid.org; again, financial aid is not just loans.
    These two organizations offer scholarships: salliemae.com; their info is also listed on CollegeAnswer.com;
    I don’t want to overwhelm you with information. I hope this information helps you and at least gets you started.
    Take care and good luck!
    P.S. I happened on this website by accident so I’ll try to check back later to see if you’ve posted a response or if you need more information.

  2. What I can think of is try to maybe to contact the school that you are to and explain you situation or you can talk to your counselor or some that can help you. GOOD LUCK!!!
