i’ve said since i was 15 i want to be an RN. i’m now 21 and i keep hesitating on signing up for an lpn program because my boyfriend’s cousin scares me about it. she is an lpn and always talks about gross things like wiping peoples behinds, vomit, weird patients etc. i dont know what kind of facility she works at but regardless i’ve been less than thrilled to hear the stories. i dont even like blood although i can “handle it” i guess. but i do well under pressure, like to be on my feet and love to help people. i’ve always liked science and i even took a human anatomy class in high school where we dissected fetal pigs and i found it fascinating while most everyone else was grossed out. i retain facts well, have a good memory and i think i would do well in terms of going to nurse school. i planned on something like the natal care unit of a hospital but i’m worried i’ll end up working at a nursing home. i need a job where i help people and i’m not sitting all day. what do you people thing, should i go for it or find something else?
