What is the difference between going to a pre-med school or going to a nursing school?

I mean is going to a pre-med school totally different from going to a nursing school? If you go to a pre-med school are you doing just to be a doctor? Or do you also have to do it for nursing?

Pre-med is to get into medical school to study to be a doctor. Nursing school is entirely different with different classes. If you want to be a Nurse, go to Nursing school. If you want to be a doctor, take pre-med.

What accreditation do you look for when applying to nursing school?

I am in school for Nursing and I already have a B.S.. With the current state of the economy I really want to speed up this process. Passing by conversations stated that a school has to haven an accreditation from a nursing organization that i’m not familiar with.

The two main accreditory bodies are the NLNAC and the CCNE. Either one is acceptable. Your school should be able to tell you which one they are accredited by (or both).

How difficult is it to get into nursing school?

I’m very interested in a career in nursing. I want to be an RN, and I’m currently a sophomore in high school. I’ve been doing a lot of research and I’m not sure what the prerequisites are for getting into a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program are.

Also, is it possible to get into nursing school taking all CP classes and honors math? Please let me know ^_^ and thank you for your time.

Difficult, not at all. It’s about average. Competitive, very. There are lots of people on waiting list at many nursing schools.

How do I get started going to nursing school?

I am 23, in the middle of a divorce, working a full-time job, with a 2-year-old that lives with me full-time. I want to go to nursing school. I’ve been to college before, 3 semesters. How do I go about getting in? What can I do to prepare? Any tips on balancing my son, my full-time job and school? Any advice is very much appreciated.

Your first step is to find a local college or university that offers a nursing program. Then set up a meeting with a counselor. Be sure to take in your transcripts with you so they can tell you what general ed classes you need before applying to the nursing program. Most nursing programs have a wait. Some up to 2 years!!!

As for juggling family, career and school – it’s hard. Talk to your family and try to see who can or will help you out. Good luck!

How can I afford to go to nursing school while NOT working?

I have been accepted to an RN program (associates), but the classes are held for seven hours/day, five days/week. I would love to go to nursing school, but I can’t afford to NOT work. Any suggestions on how I can go to school without working? Are there loans or grants (that will pay extra for usual living expenses) for this type of situation?

Yes, and your school should have stafford and pell grants, and once those are maxed, it would be in your best interest to look into alternative loans. It will be worth it. It is very hard to work in nursing school.
