What should i look for in Nursing at college?

Hello, I am a junior in high school. I would like to be a labor/delivery nurse when I graduate college. Number one, what does that require? Also, when I’m looking at colleges, what program should i look for. Is just a Nursing program what I should look for, or is there something specific?

It requires 2-4 years of college. Nowadays I would recommend getting a bachelor’s because you get paid more. As far as college programs look for pre-nursing/nursing. Make sure you make good grades before applying to nursing school!!

Can some one still get into a nursing college if they dropped out of high school and got a GED?

Will a nursing college still accept you if you don’t have a REAL high school diploma?

I think so, depending on ACT or SAT scores.

Which college do you believe is the best for nursing?

I will be entering my senior year of high school in the fall & I want to major in nursing in college. Eventually, I would like to be a nurse practitioner or nurse midwife. I get very good grades & am involved in plenty of activities, but I know I cannot afford a private school so I would like to look into Massachusetts state colleges. Which do you believe is the better college: Fitchburg State, Salem State, Umass Boston, or Umass Amherst? Thanks for your help!

Most students at community colleges are between the ages of 18-20.

You can probably contact the registrar’s office at the school that interests you and ask for a profile of their student body. You can probaly find this information on the school’s web site, too.
