If I get my nursing degree in Pennsylvania, will it still be valid in California?

Or will I have to do schooling out there as well? Re-take boards? Anything, or can I just move right out there and start working?

most states have reciprocity, which means all you have to do is pay their baksheesh and get that license for that state.

RN nursing degree in California?

I am desiring to work in the health care field since it is in demand. I want to become an RN. I don’t want to go to a community college as they can be time consuming. I want to go directly for my career at a Vocational School. Does any one know of any vocational schools that have the RN program available in california?

Here is a list of approved and accredited RN programs in California: http://rn.ca.gov/schools/rnprograms.shtml

And you will probably need to do your LVN first, then go into an LVN to RN program.

Here is a list of approved and accredited (and schools pending accreditation) LVN programs in California: http://www.bvnpt.ca.gov/education/schools/vn_schools.shtml

You could look through this list of CSU campuses:

http://www.calstate.edu/app/programs/nursing/nursing_programs.shtml

Southern California is a big place! (Makes it a bit difficult to recommend with all the choices, both public and private)

CSU Fullerton: http://nursing.fullerton.edu/ADN-BSNCampus/Default.aspx
CSU Long Beach http://www.csulb.edu/colleges/chhs/departments/nursing/programs/NursingBachelorProgram.htm

You also have the option of beginning your nursing studies at a community college (2 years) and then transferring to complete the BSN (2 more years)

There are some excellent private colleges to choose from:

Mount St. Mary’s http://www.msmc.la.edu/undergraduate-bachelor-programs/nursing.asp

Azusa Pacific http://www.apu.edu/nursing/

To locate other college options you could use

If you have other questions or need more information, don’t forget that your local library offers assistance through a 24/7 chat service.

Well to become a nurse you will have to pass the State Board Exam. Nursing is state regulated, so the qualifications are different state. E mail the board and ask what qualifications you would need to transfer your license from Arizona. They usually try to make it as easy as possible for you, but you may need to take the California boards or get any other required schooling of certification. But the board would know and are happy to help.
