I am a studnt in the ADN program and I am going to graduate soon. I am interested to work as a scrub nurse. Does anybody know what type of training or experience we need in order to become a scrub nurse? Can a new graduate go straight to the OR to work as a scrub nurse or we need some type of training? How can I become a scrub nurse? Thank you.

A scrub nurse is a especially trained nurse who directly assists a surgeon during an operation.
To become a scrub nurse, you need to undergo studies and training.. you have your related learning experience class or OJT… so you have to work or have duties in the surgical, particularly at the Operating Room (OR)..
Volunteer!!!.. it’s really exciting when you get there.. OR and DR are my favorite areas in the hospital.. and i realy love scrubbing for the CS case..

You can go straight into the OR. You might want to consider taking an 11 month scrub tech program at a local community college. Good Luck
