a question about being a nurse in the maternity ward?

I’m currently in college working on my nursing degree and was told the average salary for a nurse in maine is 51,000. i know i want to work in the maternity ward, but other than becoming a midwife, is there a different part of maternity i could specialize in to make more money? 51,000 is great i’m just wondering what my options are. thanks!

You could become a Nurse Practitioner (Women’s Health, or Family), or a Clinical Nurse Specialist. Either one could work within a birth center in a hospital or private birth center. Both would require a master’s degree and you could earn about $ 60-$ 80k to start.
